Caribbean Pest Diagnostic Network (CPDN) - Diagnostician Training

This training is funded by the USDA / T-STAR project titled "Building Technical and Institutional Policy Support Platforms for An Effective US/Caribbean Basin Invasive Species Safeguarding System". PI, Dr. Evans, Food and Resource Economics Department (FRED), UF, IFAS.
Entomology sessions are organized by Dr. Amanda Hodges, Entomology Department, UF, IFAS, and Plant Pathology sessions are organized by Ms. Carrie Harmon, Plant Pathology Department, UF, IFAS.

Saturday - June 12 - Arrival day to Gainesville Airport (GNV), participants will take taxi to go to Hotel (please keep a receipt) CABOT LODGE, 3726 SW 40th BLVD, GAINESVILLE, FL 32608, Phone 352-375-2400.
Room reservations are made at CABOT LODGE for all registered participants one person per room (Arriving June 12, departure June 19). Room rates will be paid by UF/IFAS.
Sunday - June 13

- 13:00 pm - Florida Museum of Natural History (Butterfly Rainforest and Crime Scene Insects)

- 3:30 pm - Introduction, History, Purpose and Mission of the CPDN and CISSIP (Drs. Waldy Klassen, Tropical REC, UF, IFAS; Carlton Davis, FRED, UF, IFAS; Gilly Evans, and Carolyn Cohen, APHIS, USDA)
- 4:15 pm - Pest diagnostic NETWORKS- needs and benefits - Group discussion (Tim Momol, and Amanda Hodges)

- 5:30 pm - Martin Microscope will set up dissecting and compound microscopes and cameras in McCarty 1031 A&B (Cameras and scopes are for Mon, Tue and Wed). Some cameras are for Plant Disease Clinic, Bldg 78 Mowry Rd.
